Lately I've been getting up really early and shooting a bit.  Just for me, just for the hell of it.  It's been foggy in the am.  Here are my first few.

Yesterday I photographed ABBA Mania, the ABBA tribute band at the Bay Arts Council Wednesdays in the Park concert series. It was pouring and storming about 30 minutes before they were supposed to start, but thankfully the rain stopped and fun was had by all. I'm sharing a few images here, but the rest can be seen on www.mybaycity.com as well as a small article about the event. The official publish date is Sunday, it might be up before then I'm not sure. This shot was one of my favorites.

I remember when my kids were little and we lived in Bay City they would sometimes have their artwork displayed at Studio 23 for the student show.  Well now that we're back we get to do it all over again.  Julia's fish mask is there along with a lot of amazing work by local students.  It's bitter sweet because I love to see how talented the kids are, but with art programs constantly being cut I wonder how much they'll be able to learn about things like working with clay.  Any one can pick up a pencil and try to draw, but not every has access to clay and a kiln and glaze.  Anyway, you should head to downtown Bay City and check out the show.  

Last night was the WIOG Fresh Face Showcase.  When I heard that Cartel was going to be there I wanted to shoot it because my daugthers are huge fans.  It was such a blast!  Concerts are always fun because of the energy.  It's the perfect opportunity to capture moments because nobody ever really pays attention to you (the photographer).  They're too busy watching the show! The State Theater in Bay City is such a great venue.  It's always refreshing when you get to work with nice people and they have great lighting!  Thanks Mike!  :)

i had the pleasure of photographing lucas a couple weeks ago. he was a gem. i love this picture. to me it's the essence of what it's like to be a baby. no inhibitions. no fear. just happy and cute as hell.
