I came across this fan video today. I hadn't heard this song before and I really like it. I've been thinking a lot about time lapse photography, it's always fun to find inspiration.

Happy Mother's Day to all of my brides who are now moms. There are so many of you! I wish you so much love and joy with your new little ones. Hopefully you can have a little relax time today. :)

sunday i had the pleasure of accompanying my youngest daughter to the mutter museum at the college of physicians of philadelphia. it's a museum dedicated to medical oddities, actual specimens as well as reproductions. they also have a large display of medical instruments used throughout history and many other interesting things.

there is information and a lot of images on their website, but only take a look if you have a strong stomach, are a medical doctor or enjoy experiencing medical oddities at their finest. it was definitely "disturbingly informative". we may have to go back for the next exhibit, a collection of shrunken heads from south america.

some days the light just has an amazing quality. it's warm and comforting. yesterday was one of those days.

the other day i was telling a friend about the time i saw christopher walken driving past my house while shooting a movie. (it's always fun to see famous people, don't you think?) today i was looking through some old folders trying to find a picture for a past bride when i stumbled upon the proof! it was quite a sight to see at 7:30am. the trucks and police were driving up and down the street a bunch of times so finally i decided to try and see who was inside. walken has a very recognizable face and i was totally shocked when i saw him in the driver's seat of the sweet and low car. so i took a few pictures from my apartment window. today when i found them, i imdbed walken to see if the movie ever came out. it's called "$5 a day" but it looks like it's never been in the theaters and i can't seem to find any way to watch it. if anyone has an idea please let me know. i'd love to see it.

in honor of all things warm. this was taken at the top of haleakala, a volcano in maui. we left the hotel at 3am to make it to the top. it was dark, freezing and foggy. as it began to get lighter and lighter i seriously started to think we weren't going to see anything but haze. boy was i wrong.

Despite the frigid temperatures, my kids wanted to go out and take pictures yesterday. Of course children don't feel the cold, so I was the only one suffering. Still, it was well worth it. We found these great walls right across a parking lot from each other in Glenside, PA. Now we have to go back and wear orange clothes.

This showcase was postponed until Monday, February 2nd because of impending weather. There's still time to sign up if you'd like to see the bands!


brandywine vally talent has some of the most awesomest dance bands in philly. i've had the privilege of working with them many times and i can honestly say they do a fantastic party. they're showcasing 5 of their bands on jan. 27th at the concordville inn in glenn mills, pa. i'll be there to talk about wedding photography along with some other great vendors. sign up here if you'd like to stop by for an evening of cocktails and great music!

there’s something in the water! several of my brides are starting out the new year with additions to their families. and several more awaiting the arrival of new additions! so for my first post of 2009 i thought i’d congratulate them. the first is my dear friend emily who’s wedding i photographed way back in 2006. it always amazes me how fast time flies. i’m lucky to have a career that connects me with so many amazing people. we meet and often times become friends. i photographed emily and david’s engagement session, wedding, her maternity session and now the beginning of their new life as a family of 3.

so emily, david, and little baby aidan cheers to you and a very happy new year!

em has been doing yoga for many years and didn't stop while she was pregnant. looks like aidan will be following in her footsteps!

after spending a week in a frigid environment it makes one appreciate not so frigid weather. tonight it was cold and rainy, but not cold enough to freeze your nose hairs. so we ventured out to find the light in the dark. happy rainy night folks.

rebecca and andy were married on may 10th at the beautiful hotel dupont in wilmington. they grew up in the same neighborhood so this wedding was a joining of two families who have known each other for many years. they were such a great couple and we had so much fun! it was also very emotional at times. you could totally feel the love. the dance floor was always full thanks to a fantastic crowd and an awesome band, cto park avenue. congrats you two!

i love images that capture real moments and emotion. rebecca's mom will probably kill me for posting this pic because she kept asking me not to take her picture since she hadn't had her hair and makeup done yet, but i couldn't help myself. she helped rebecca get into her gown but when she stood back and took a look at her she got all choked up. it was a very special moment.

we had been waiting a while for andy to meet us. rebecca knew he was on his way but he managed to sneak up on her.

they had a gorgeous chuppah. the hotel dupont looked amazing (as usual!)

happy 4th of july! i haven't had a lot of time to post here lately, i'm trying to get caught up! but i had to post this image because it was so much fun to capture! i have many more from the past 2 months that i'm working on uploading here, but this one took presedence. thanks to lindsay for suggesting it! it was the perfect end to an amazing weekend. and making this image took away a little bit of the sting of not being able to celebrate the holiday with my family this year. congrats linsday and steve!

congrats to bernadette and alan! they traveled all the way from northern ireland to get married here. we had a blast! (as you can see). everyone was just so happy and it really showed.

i love photography. it's not often that i see a photograph that makes me stop in my tracks. today i saw one, and when i browsed through his site i found even more. these images are hauntingly beautiful. i especially love the "city of shadows" series.

i can't wait to photograph alicia and jeff's wedding later this year! they are such a great couple and have amazing chemistry (which always makes my job a little bit easier!) even though it was freezing at the waterworks restaurant in philadelphia, they stuck it out. we had a blast and made some beautiful images!

stephanie and brian were married at the beautiful talamore country club. it was such a beautiful day! video one was the videographer, (check out a recap of their video here!), ebe provided the entertainment for the evening and the decor was by h & d design.

many of you might have heard of "trash the dress" shoots. a trash the dress shoot is simply a bride who wants creative and artistic images in her wedding dress without worrying about ruining it on her wedding day. it doesn't mean we're going to literally "trash" the dress. it just means that we can do things we wouldn't normally do without stressing out about getting it dirty. most of the time the dress is completely fine after the shoot. i say most of the time because it really depends on the bride and what she has in mind. the latest trend is jumping into the ocean or another body of water. it makes for some truly amazing images. this is a sample of one that i did last summer around the boardwalk in atlantic city. rachel was amazing and so beautiful. i'll be posting more in the near future but these are a couple of my favorites.

this weekend i traveled to johnstown, pa again for my cousin's wedding. i haven't had much time to post lately, but i loved this image so much i just had to post it. i will be updating with a lot of new images very soon.

happy new year! regina and tony were married on 12/31/07 and it was quite a party! they were married at st. dorthy's church in springhill, pa. the reception was at the marriott west in conshohocken. the sid miller band made sure it was a night to remember! my good friends at video one recorded the fun in motion! it was definitely a new year's eve to remeber!

congrats to maureen and shawn who were married on october 26th 2007 at st adalbert's church in philadelphia! the reception was held at the beautiful ballroom at the ben. we also went around the city for pictures in the rain. i was very proud of maureen for braving the weather in her wedding dress. the reception was so much fun, but with a band like jelly roll you can't go wrong!
